Creating a Multiple Choice Formative Assessment Using Google Forms
Purpose:
After having tried out Google Forms with the intention of creating a Math/Physics Multiple Choice Formative Assessment, I would say that it is not suitable.
Pros:
After having tried out Google Forms with the intention of creating a Math/Physics Multiple Choice Formative Assessment, I would say that it is not suitable.
Pros:
- Ease of use.
- Free
- Linked to Google account, so it can be set to one entry per person.
- Can be embedded on my class website.
- Questions have the option to be required, which means that they will not leave out any responses.
- Image/Video insertion options varied. (e.g. Upload, Take a Snapshot, by URL, Your albums, Google Drive, Search)
Cons:
- The correct answer cannot be identified. Flubaroo would have to be used in conjunction with Google Forms to automatically grade the assessment.
- Equations are not represented well. Math Add-ons are available but they do not give a seamless experience.
- Pictures/Diagrams cannot be linked to a particular question. It will below the question. This means that randomizing the questions will not be possible since the picture may be located in a different spot than where it should be.
